Young Sheldon
This prequel to “The Big Bang Theory” closes its fourth season with a finale called “The Wild and Woolly World of Nonlinear Dynamics,” in which young Missy’s (Raegan Revord) first heartbreak sparks a series of events affecting brother Sheldon (Iain Armitage) and the entire Cooper household. Fans can rest easy on one point, though: There’s no real-world heartache for this show’s cast and creative team, since CBS recently renewed “Young Sheldon” for three more seasons.

Walker
Walker and Geri (Jared Padalecki, guest star Odette Annable) both are still trying to process their feelings about the recent kiss they shared, but the confusion mounts when her old flame Hoyt (guest star Matt Barr) comes home from prison in the new episode “Freedom.” His welcome home party is interrupted when Micki (Lindsey Morgan) alerts everyone that Walker’s lethal nemesis Clint West (guest star Austin Nichols) is a fugitive at large. Keegan Allen, Kale Culley and Violet Brinson also star.

After Mike (Tim Allen) spends time with Ryan (Jordan Masterson) during a marketing retreat, Mandy (Molly McCook) is left feeling jealous in the new episode “Murder, She Wanted.” Elsewhere, Ed (Héctor Elizondo) tries to get Chuck and Joe (Jonathan Adams, recurring guest star Jay Leno) to join him in seeing a musical. The “144” of this film’s title refers to the 144 WNBA players who gathered in Bradenton, Fla., a year ago in an effort to save their league’s 2020 season in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. This documentary from Lauren Stowell and Jenna Contreras explores a season dedicated to social justice and all that the players overcame to get through it — the pandemic, the demands of activism and the rigors of an unrelenting schedule.

Growing Up Hip Hop
The original edition of this popular reality show franchise, which follows the offspring of such hip hop legends as Rev Run and Treach, returns for its sixth season, adding some new faces to its cast, including Grammy-winning producer Stevie J, daughter Savannah, son Stevie Jr., music industry veteran Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell and his daughter Cree. Among the returning characters, Rev Run’s daughter, Angela Simmons, is into a heavy new romance with a professional boxer, while a pair of dueling weddings inadvertently uncover a shocking family secret.

This Emmy-winning comedy series, which received widespread acclaim for skillfully juggling laughter and pathos, ends its eight season run with a finale called “My Kinda People and the Big To-Do,” in which Bonnie (Allison Janney) gains a new perspective on her sobriety when she is forced to deal with some difficult news. In a happier development, Jill and Andy (Jaime Pressly, recurring guest star Will Sasso) take a major step in their own relationship. After long weeks of babysitting Gina (Annaleigh Ashford) — and, more to the point, the kidney she’s willing to donate to him — Drew (Thomas Middleditch) understandably feels immense relief as his transplant surgery nears in the Season 1 finale, “Life Expectancy.” While he celebrates what he fervently hopes is his last dialysis session, Gina starts searching for an apartment she can move into after the operation. Linda Lavin and Sara Rue also star. CBS has not yet announced whether this show will return for another season.

Clarice
After the VICAP team discovers a link between a pharmaceutical company and the River Murders, Clarice (Rebecca Breeds) turns for help from Julia Lawson (recurring guest star Jen Richards), the company’s corporate accountant, who previously had declined to cooperate with the investigation. Meanwhile, Ardelia and Agent Garrett Haynes (Devyn Tyler, guest star K.C. Collins) find a lawyer they hope will argue the Black Coalition’s case against the FBI, and Catherine Martin (guest star Marnee Carpenter) goes outside for the first time since her narrow rescue from Buffalo Bill.

Chef Boot Camp
Season 1 ends with the finale “The Bottom Line,” in which chef Cliff Crooks makes the first of three stops in Portland, Maine. He’s there to mentor Richard, a first-time head chef who is skilled in culinary arts, but less so when it comes to finances. Cliff teaches him that great food doesn’t always require pricey ingredients. In Scranton, Pa., Italian eatery head chef Sammy lacks culinary training and creativity. Finally, Syracuse, N.Y., chef Violette simply takes too long to make her delicious dishes.
