FLAVE WARNOCK PETERS,

age 93, of Little Rock, formerly of Russellville, died Thursday, June 24, 2021. He was born on August 7, 1927, in the home of his grandparents, W. H. and Annie Goode Warnock, in Magnolia, to Flave C. and Lillian Warnock Peters.

He was a long time member of Central Presbyterian Church in Russellville where he served as Deacon, Elder, Trustee and a Sunday school teacher. He was a past co-owner and president of Peters Family Living in Russellville, retiring in 2001 after 51 years and served as president of the Arkansas Furniture Association. For 31 years he was a director of Peoples Bank and Trust which later became Bank of America in Russellville and was a past president of the Noon Rotary Club. He was a 1945 co-valedictorian of Russellville High School and a 1950 graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. His college education was interrupted for a short time while he served in the United States Army during World War II.

Flave had a passion for traveling and visited over 120 countries and all seven continents. In 2006, he and his wife moved to Parkway Retirement Village in Little Rock, where they are members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ella Ann Ormond Peters; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Ann and John Kooistra III of Little Rock; a son and daughter-in-law, Ormond and Patricia Peters of Russellville; four grandchildren, Ann Marie (Alex) Gray of Little Rock, Samuel Kooistra of Tucson, Ariz., Brittany (Skyler) Villeneuve and Nathan (Jennifer) Peters, both of Russellville; five great-grandchildren, Ann Elizabeth Gray, Margaret Gray, Vivian Gray, Cora Villeneuve and Abigail Peters; a brother and sister-inlaw, John William “Bill” and Joanna Peters of Russellville; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Little Rock with the Rev. Tim J. Reed officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Monday in Oakland Cemetery in Russellville with the Pastor Don Stiles and the Pastor Gary Harvey officiating, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
