CABOT — Ida “Sue” McNeill Hamric,

82, of Cabot, Ark., went to Heaven June 22, 2021. She was born in Plainview, Ark., on September 11, 1938, to Lee and Mattie McNeill, who preceded her in death. She was a founding member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot where she attended regularly until Covid. She was married to Bernard (Toby) Hamric on September 7, 1957, and they were married 60 years (lacking a few days) before his passing in 2018.

She graduated from Des Arc High School in 1956 where she and her twin sister, Lue, played basketball and participated in school activities together. They were lifelong best friends from birth until death and the miles between them never mattered, they new the other one was just a phone call away.

She worked for Sears in Lonoke for many years before becoming the store owner. She retired when Sears closed all the smaller stores. From there went to work for First State Bank in Lonoke in the bookkeeping department until she retired.

Sue is survived by her son, Bernard “Spook” Hamric and wife, Cyndi; daughter, Linda LaSalle; grandchildren, Megan (Billy) Loney, Jessica Frahm, Terra Chapman, and Ashley Champlin; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Wyatt, Alyssa, Adysen, Cade, Chloe and Kennedy; twin sister, Lue Roland; brother, James (Linda) McNeill; along with many nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard McNeill; sister, Martha Wallace and son-in-law, Rene LaSalle.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot, with burial to follow at Hebron Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
