SEARCY — Marjorie Estell Gentry Williams,

95, formerly of Kensett, recently of Providence Assisted Living, Searcy, Ark., died Friday. Marjorie was born February 18, 1926, to Roy Jefferson Gentry and Willma Vada Hughes Gentry in Letona, Ark. Mrs. Marjorie graduated from Kensett High School in 1945, and in 1947 she married the love of her life, Donald Paul Williams Sr., when he returned from WWII. Mrs. Wiliams is survived by her sons Donald Paul Williams Jr., (Dee) of Kensett and Phillip Terrell Williams, (Becky) of McRae. Four grandchildren, Jayme Renee Hale (John) of Judsonia, Donald Paul “Buddy” Williams, III (Amy) of Searcy, Jason Eric Williams (Katrinia) of Newark, and Julia Elizabeth Williams of McRae. Nine great-grandchildren, John Colton Hale (Ashley) of Judsonia, Taylor Breanne Mitchell (Johnathon) of Judsonia, Jordan Blaine Hale of Judsonia, Grace Nicole Williams and Jackson Paul Williams both of Searcy, Jermiah Edward Williams, Eric Matthew Williams, Justin Alan Williams and Mikayla Marie Williams, each of Newark. One great-great-granddaughter Tinslee Brooke Hale of Judsonia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Mrs. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 24 years, Donald Paul Williams, affectionately known as Buddy. Her sisters Caroline Gentry White, Catherine Willma Mae Gentry, and Brother Roy Jonathon Gentry. Mrs. Marjorie was a lifelong member of the Kensett United Methodist Church; active with the United Methodist women and serving as the Church treasure for a number of years. She enjoyed service as a volunteer for Unity Health Hospital Auxiliary for several years. She loved gardening and her flowers- mostly irises and roses. Mrs. Marjorie loved God, her family, friends and neighbors. A special thanks to Providence Assisted Living facility and staff for their compassion and care of Marjorie for nearly six years.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Kensett with Rev. Cheyann Chambers officiating. Visitation will be held prior, beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Kensett Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
