CONWAY — William (Bill) Edward Welter, Jr.,

of Conway, Ark., passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021. He was born October 22, 1938, in Morrilton, a son of the late Hazel Drilling Welter and Edward Welter. He was a Communicant and member of St. Joseph Parish in Conway, Arkansas. Bill was a graduate of Sacred Heart School Morrilton, Arkansas. He attended Arkansas State Teachers College and was a Senior Engineer with Arkansas Power and Light. He served in the Air National Guard and was a quiet gentle family man who used his talents to help others, always hosting family holiday dinners. He carried his dad’s traditions of “sweet treats” and always had goodies for visitors young and old. Enjoyed canoeing on the Spring River, trips to Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and out west. Bill was a home designer and builder. He built his home and one for each of his sons and taught them building and fixing skills. Bill had a hard-working ethic and a wellstocked shop, always ready with a helping hand.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 years, Pauline Basler Welter; sons, Timothy Edward Welter (Stacy) and Mark Joseph Welter (Lavonne); sister, Linda Welter Andrews; niece, Charlotte Smith; nephew, Chris Andrews; great-niece, Abbie Smith; grandson, Todd Welter (Jennie); granddaughter, Kayla Thomas (Justin); grandson, Doug Welter (Kaylen); granddaughter, Danielle Maczka (Brooks); great-grandchildren, Brook and Joseph Welter, Lynlee, Lillie, and Livee Thomas. May he rest in God’s eternal peace and his memory live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by his quiet, giving and often mischievous nature.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 6, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m., and Rosary 9:30 to 10 a.m., Monday, prior to the service. Private burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice, Special Olympics or Ronald McDonald
