MARSHALL — William Howard Kelso,

72, of Marshall, won his battle over pain and suffering of this world, and went on to rejoice his new life with loved ones on the other side on Saturday, November 27, 2021. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on October 18, 1949, to Chester James “Chet” and Faye Belle (Ethridge) Kelso. William was preceded in death by his best ride along buddy, Larry “Lar” Lewers and his parents.

He served in the United States Navy. He then moved to Ark., to be near his sister, Nancy. William attended UCA and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He was awarded a Presidential Scholar for Outstanding Achievement of having compiled the highest possible grades in a single semester. During this time, he had three daughters the true apples of his eyes, Karea (1983), Megan (1985) and Amber (1987). William graduated in 1999 from UCA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. He then became a Computer Technology Teacher for the DeValls Bluff School District and continued after the consolidation with the Hazen School District in 2006. He continued teaching with Hazen until retiring in 2011.

William is survived by his sister and best friend, Nancy Kelso Lewers, daughters, Karea Kennemer(Ed), Megan Brown (Tony) and Amber Kelso (Thomas Gregorich), grandchildren, Mitchel Brown, Kierra Lee, Breelynd Brown, Chase Brown, Ariel Gregorich, Taelyn Gregorich, Jaxton Gregorich and many other family members and friends.
