Gloria Warren Randle

The life of Gloria Warren Randle, began on November 1, 1946, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was the third of four children and the only girl born to the late Henry L. Warren and Rissie Combs Warren. She made a peaceful transition to be with Christ on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 2021.

She confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and united with St. Peters Rock Missionary Baptist Church. She would remain there and serve in several ministries over 50 years until her passing. Her service was consistent and selfless without the need for accolades. She taught Sunday School for over 30 years and was the Director of Christian Education for her Church. Under her direction, a new members class was established providing true insight into spiritual maturity. Over the years she also served as a Deaconess, Missionary Member and on the program committee. Along with her brother, Curtis, she delivered communion to the sick and shut in monthly for years. She was known to care for elderly women in the community and her church devoting years to their care. She gave of her time, talents, and finances. It was nothing for her to provide college scholarships, tuition, or to help a struggling single mother or widow. All these things were done without boasting or expectation of praise.

Gloria graduated from the then segregated Coleman High School in 1964. She proceeded to higher education at AM&N College of Pine Bluff, but completion was interrupted by the birth of her first born. However, she later returned and in 1997 at the age of 50 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She was a member of the Delta Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., NAACP, and the Southeast Arkansas Home Builders Association. She was not only spiritually grounded but was also financially self-educated and business savvy. After a 13-year stent at Safeway, as one of the first African American female cashiers, she devoted the rest of her time as co-owner of the family business.

In 1971 she wed Lee J. Randle and was dedicated to him for 50 years until her passing. Together in 1972 they co-founded L.J. Randle Construction Company that financed and built over 200 properties. This included homes, churches, and small businesses in Arkansas and Louisiana. The business continues to thrive today. Known as “Baby” to LJ, she was the perfect help meet needed for him.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, Clarence Warren. Her life and legacy will continue through her husband and best friend, L.J.
