STEWART GLENN SCOTT SR.,

age 82, of Sherwood, Ark., was called home to the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2021.

He was born in Memphis, Tenn., on October 21, 1939, to the late Stewart Blaine Scott and Gladys Burns Scott Evans.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Dwyer Scott; two sisters, Nancy Louise Scott and Eugenia Scott Baker; and his stepdaughter, Melissa Welsh Read.

Glenn attended Tulane University on a football scholarship for two years, and completed his education at the University of Memphis. He served in both the Army and National Guard. Glenn began his career at Schering-Plough in Memphis Tenn., as a compounder in the Maybelline division and worked his way up to international plant facilitator in Kenilworth N.J., where he traveled extensively, opening Maybelline plants in Germany, England and Venezuela. He later became Vice President of Professional Specialties Medical Equipment and Supplies. In semi-retirement, Glenn obtained his real estate license and worked for several years for Century 21 in Memphis.

Glenn was blessed to have found love again in his later life and was happily married to Janet Hulsey Scott for seven beautiful years. Along with Janet, he leaves behind his daughters, Katherine (Mart) James and Stephanie (Mike) Smith; his son, Stewart Glenn Scott Jr.; and stepson, Timothy (Tammy) Welsh.

He also leaves behind five granddaughters (Taylor, Macy, Sydney, Lauren, and Allison); nine grandsons (Ben, Brandon, Blaine, Rob, Micah, Glenn, Evan, Daniel, and Derek) and three great-grandsons (Maddox, James, and Ryder).

A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home (7700 Hwy. 107). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood.
