CABOT — Richard Harold Hicks,

80, of Cabot passed away on December 4, 2021. He was born January 15, 1941 in Lansing, Mich., to the late Clayton and Lulu (Drayer) Hicks.

Richard was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and an active leader in the Boy Scouts of America in Jacksonville, Ark. He was a member of the Southern Oaks Country Club in Jacksonville. He also coached Little League baseball for over 10 years, was involved in the Episcopal Dioceses of Ark., and worked for Elixir Industries for several years as a controller and plant manager.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

Those left to cherish Richard’s memory include his wife of 31 years, Katie Hicks; children, Rich (Linda) Hicks, Rob (Tracy) Hicks, and Aaron (Jessica) Butterfield; his cousin, Vance Birminghan; his ex-wife, Caryl Hicks; 10 grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s disease in Richard’s honor.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501) 982-2136.
