JAMES DEWEY “JIMMY” LAWHON

passed away on January 17, 2022, at the age of 80, in his hometown of Little Rock, Ark. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Eloise Lawhon; and brother, Micky Lawhon. Survived by two sisters, Patricia Pitts and Judy Brooks; two brothers, Bill Lawhon and Jackie Lawhon. Jimmy is also survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita Darlene Lawhon; two children, Debra Davis and husband, Tom Davis. Jimmy Lawhon and wife, Michelle; five grandkids, Corey Davis, Nick Davis, Hunter Lawhon, Dylan Lawhon, and Mary Lawhon; two great-grandkids, Elliot and Nora Grace Davis.

His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Jimmy came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. As a child, Jimmy grew up on a farm and began selling produce on many corners. He later worked in the family business “Lawhon’s Produce” for many years and then worked for Little Rock Tool Service until he retired in 2011. Jimmy served as in MP in the Army Reserve, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He enjoyed camping, boating, and watching football, especially the Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys.

Jimmy will be honored in a celebration of life on January 20, 2022. The visitation, ceremony and burial will be held at Pinecrest Funeral Home located at 7401 AR-5 N, Alexander, Ark. 72002 Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., ceremony at 2 p.m., and graveside service at 3 p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.pinecrestfh.com for the Lawhon family.
