Dungee hired at Troy

— Bob Holt

Former University of Arkansas All-American guard Chelsea Dungee, 25, has been hired as an assistant coach at Troy (Ala.) University, Trojans Coach Chanda Rigby announced Monday.

Dungee scored 2,147 points in her college career, including 1,903 in three seasons at Arkansas, where she transferred after playing one season at Oklahoma. She played 14 games as a rookie in the WNBA last season after being a first-round draft pick by the Dallas Wings.

“I am excited about the opportunity to pursue my lifelong goal of becoming a Division I women’s basketball coach,” Dungee said in a news release. “My collegiate and professional experiences have provided me with vast knowledge of the game and the ability to create and maintain healthy relationships through shared experiences. The feeling of giving back and contributing to the growth of young women is unmatched.”
