ATU’s Klemm earns fourth All-America honor

— Democrat-Gazette Press Services

Arkansas Tech University junior Jacqueline Klemm was named an honorable mention All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Monday after helping lead the Golden Suns to a runner-up finish at the Great American Conference Tournament and earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Central Region Tournament.

Klemm finished tied for fifth individually at the regional and qualified for her third NCAA Division II Tournament, where she tied for eighth.

That finish was the second-best at the national tournament by a Golden Sun, behind Rebecka Surtevall’s third-place finish in 2014.

Klemm is the only four-time All-American in Arkansas Tech golf history and was previously named to the honorable mention team in 2019, to the second team in 2020 and 2021, and was the WGCA National Freshman of the Year in 2018-19.
