SEARCY — Thomas “Sprout” Coleman,

92, of Searcy passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born February 15, 1930, in Romance, Ark., to the late Robert and Mrytle (Covington) Coleman.

He was a very avid hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with his family. Thomas was co-owner of the Corner Pawn and Sporting Goods. He was a Christian man who attended the West Side Church of Christ of Searcy for 59 years. He was also married for 62 years to his wife, Shirley, who passed away in 2020.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth D. Coleman (Peggy) of Searcy, Nick Coleman of Searcy, and Tracy Coleman of Searcy; brother, James Coleman of Searcy; grandchildren, Jessica Dorman (Corey) of Beebe, Mason Coleman of Searcy, Nicky Coleman II of Searcy; great-grandchildren, Connor Dorman of Beebe and Grayson Dorman of Beebe; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; siblings, Bobby Jo Elkins (Bob), Margaret Davis (Richard), Jaimie Clay (Kenneth) and Alton Bo Coleman (Edell).

A visitation will be held at 1011 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy. Following that will be the service at 11 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2022. Burial will be at White County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sparrow’s Promise, 208 East Moore Ave., Searcy, Ark., 72143.
