DEWITT — Thomas Floyd “Tom” Davis,

79, of DeWitt died Jan. 25, 2023. He was born Nov. 26, 1943, in Bethesda, Ark., to Claude and Avis Dale Davis. Coach Davis began his teaching and coaching career in 1965 at Drew Central in Monticello. In 1971, he moved to DeWitt, where he spent the rest of his career as a coach and high school principal. He was a member of the Independance County Basketball Hall of Fame and the University of Central Arkansas Basketball Hall of Fame. In his retirement years, his grandchildren were his focus and he loved them dearly. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, LeRoy and Winston Davis. He is survived by his wife, Kay Aston Davis; two sons Lance Davis (Hollee) of Stuttgart and Todd Davis of Springdale; two grandsons Hayden and Drew Davis; one granddaughter Taylor Davis; and one brother Jo Davis of Bethesda, Ark.
