CABOT — Evelyn Carroll Mellina,

age 75, of Cabot, Ark., went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, La., on June 12, 1947, to the late Jack Goff Austin and Alice Evelyn Carroll Austin.

Carroll loved the Lord and was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cabot, Ark.

Carroll is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Wayne Mellina; son, Joseph Henry Rudd, Jr.; granddaughters, Brooke E. Posey, Brittani R. Bennett, Brittnee Chism; and brothers, Mike Austin and Patrick Austin.

She leaves behind her beloved pet, Ellsa; children, Marie Rudd Gregory (Todd) and John Rudd (Samantha); daughter-in-law, Shala Dixon; grandchildren, Megan Posey, Haley Higdon (Justin), Chase Chism (Courtney), Joseph “Trey” Rudd, III (Kayla), Connor Bennett (Jessie), and Emily Rudd; siblings, Diane M. Boswell, Sharon Austin, Wayne Austin, Richard Austin, Peggy Beasley, Katherine Moore, and Mark Austin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. The rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m., with Mass to follow at 11 a.m., all at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church; 602 E Main St, Cabot, Ark., 72023. Interment will follow after Mass at Mountain Springs Cemetery; 15669 AR-5, Cabot, Ark., 72076. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
