“Will They Last?” this cover asked. Elvis manager Colonel Tom Parker told Parade “A lot of people say they’ll pass just as quickly as they came on. Reminds me of what they said about Elvis. ‘He’s a passing fancy… can’t possibly last.’ Well, Elvis is a full-ĥedged movie star. I predict the same thing will happen to the Beatles.” The Beatles were nominated for 23 Grammys and won seven the first two less than a year after this cover story: Best Performance By a Vocal Group for A Hard Day’s Night and Best New Artist. In 2014, they received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
