Mary Negielee Dixon

Mary Negielee Dixon, 86, of Dardanelle, Ark., died March 17, 2023. She was born to the late Joe arid Winnie Coleman and graduated from Watson Chapel School in Pine Bluff.

She married Joel Robert Dixon in 1958. They moved to Cleveland Co. in 1970 from Watson Chapel and lived there until moving to the Pottsville area. She ran the family-owned business, Dixon Feed & Seed in Pine Bluff for years. She substituted at Woodlawn School and worked at Shepherd Florist in the 1990’s.

Mary was affectionately known as Mother, Mary, Negie, and Memaw. She loved flowers and gardening: ask her about any flower and she knew the answer.

She was talented in crochet and knitting. Over the years she made several beautiful crochet pieces for friends, family, cancer patients, and newborns.

She was also a wonderful cook. She was a member of First Baptist Church Russellville and volunteered in the kitchen on Wednesday nights.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dixon.

She is survived by four children and their families: Cheryl Lynn Dixon of Fairfax, Va.; Mary Bob McDaniel (Marty, Megan, John) of Russellville; Robert Dale Dixon (Claudia, Miller, Caroline, Andrew, Matthew) of Atkins; and Bonnie Ruth Barr (Lincoln) of Russellville; one sister, Helen Oliger of Rison; and one brother, Freddie Coleman (Vickie) of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Ken Worthen officiating.

Burial is in Bells Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Online obituary and condolences are available at www.lemleyfuneral.com.
