ELMER LEE GUNTER,

age 87 of Sherwood, passed away at his home surrounded by family on March 20, 2023.

He was born December 1, 1935, in Vilonia to Jefferson Davis and Lila Wilma Gunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, Dixie Gunter; infant daughter, Cynthia Gunter; and two brothers, J.D. Gunter and Sam Gunter.

Mr. Gunter worked in construction at Pipefitters Local 155 for over 50 years.

He loved being with his grandchildren, and his dogs. He also enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid Razorback fan.

Mr. Gunter is survived by three daughters, Valerie (Rick) Van Dame of Frisco, Texas, Karla (Paul) Hand of Sherwood, and Kristi (Jose) Fernandez of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Thomas Pat Gunter of Sherwood; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Josue) Gallardo, Brett Ray, Mack Ray, Jeff (Sarah) Hand, Briana Fernandez, Armand Fernandez, and Carlo Fernandez; six great-grandchildren, J.J., Layla, Logan, Hannah, Jackson, and Camryn; and by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m., at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Ark., Bro. Jesse Pate officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock.
