Lt. Colonel SAMUEL ERNEST WILLIAMSON, JR.,

Retired, U.S. Army Reserve, age 92, died March 21, 2023. He was born March 27, 1930, to Lily Viola Hawthorne and Samuel Ernest Williamson, Sr., in Little Rock, Ark. He was known to many as either Sam or S.E.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cathy Williamson; his children, Samuel E. Williamson, III, and Claibanne Julia Williamson Chiechi.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 48 years, Betty McColey Williamson.

A graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Lt. Colonel Williamson served in the Arkansas Army National Guard for a total of 47 years, having served in many including in the 125th Medical Battalion’s Training Officer, Intelligence Officer, and full time Recruiter for approximately 25 years.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at the funeral home with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park.
